The Eagles reached the midway point in the season this week with their match versus Beyer on September 21. Creekside Golf Course greens and tee-boxes had been aerated the week before so conditions were less than prime.
Enochs and Beyer were involved in two close, dramatic matches last year. The memory of those matches and the proximity of the schools have sparked a rivalry between the schools. Despite the tension, the Eagles kept it loose and focused on the task at hand. The Eagles prevailed with the victory which marked a perfect 6-0 record to start the season. Perhaps the most memorable part of the match was the end because the team helped Demetria celebrate her 17th birthday. The girls must have worked up an appetite, because the cookies sure did not last long.
Enochs last match of the week was against Modesto High. It is the time of the year to aerate greens and Muni Park threw sanded, punched greens at the players. The Eagles were able to post a score of 242 which was enough for the victory.
